Former softball player JENNIE FINCH teamed with SI.com’s ANN KILLION to write "THROW LIKE A GIRL: HOW TO DREAM BIG & BELIEVE IN YOURSELF," a “part autobiography, part inspirational self-help book for girls and young women who love and play sports” (USA TODAY, 9/14)….Rays P JAMES SHIELDS and RaysBaseball.com’s BILL CHASTAIN’s book, “SEPTEMBER NIGHTS,” was released yesterday. The book chronicles the team’s ’10 season (ST. PETERSBURG TIMES, 9/14).

WHAT’S THERE TO WATCH? NBCSPORTS.com’s Aaron Gleeman wrote what the upcoming “MONEYBALL” movie “lacked in historical accuracy it made up for in witty dialogue, likable characters, and a surprising amount of humor.” BRAD PITT “is charming as A’s general manager BILLY BEANE and an effort was clearly made to portray him as far less cocky and far more vulnerable than he appeared in the book.” The film “does an excellent job of staying true to the most minute details” and is “absolutely worth seeing” (NBCSPORTS.com, 9/13)….NBC yesterday announced “LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON” will broadcast from Indianapolis on Feb. 1-3 leading up to Super Bowl XLVI.
