NBA Kings' Tyreke Evans Signs Endorsement Deal With VBlast Water Line

NBA Kings G Tyreke Evans is “starring in his first nationwide television commercial for VBlast, a new vitamin-enhanced water line,” according to Mark Glover of the SACRAMENTO BEE. The 30-second spot -- which “can be viewed on YouTube -- is premiering in the key New York market and will eventually be rolled out nationally.” Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The ad features Evans' “explosive moves and ball-handling skills.” Evans said that he “was ‘blown away’ by the finished VBlast commercial, which took hours to film." VBlast parent company New York Spring Water CEO Richard Zakka said, "When we sought to find a synergistic celebrity partner for VBlast, we looked for someone who exemplified the same characteristics of our brand -- young, fresh, unique and powerful." Glover reports Evans is “not the only celebrity” involved with VBlast, as New York Spring Water “also has a partnership with entertainer Queen Latifah.” Meanwhile, sports marketing experts said that the Kings' “next endorsement star is likely to be guard Jimmer Fredette” (SACRAMENTO BEE, 9/14).
