House Call: Penguins Again Deliver Season Tickets To Fans

Sidney Crosby was “one of 14 Penguins players to drop off tickets to 30-plus randomly selected" season-ticket holders yesterday, according to Kevin Allen of USA TODAY. Crosby delivered season tickets to Annette Henzler and signed “about 20 items and posed for pictures with Annette and her husband, Gary." Henzler: “This is just surreal.” The season-ticket holders “aren't told which player is coming to their house, providing some shock value.” Penguins VP/Communications Tom McMillan said, “They all try to find out what player it is. They say, 'We want to wear the proper jerseys'” (USA TODAY, 9/13). In Pittsburgh, Shelly Anderson notes this is the “fifth year Penguins players have spread around town for a season ticket delivery mission." Crosby said, “This is a nice thing we do, and I think when this comes up we realize we’re getting closer to camp and things are starting soon” (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 9/13). Also in Pittsburgh, Josh Yohe notes 20-year-old Sarah Harper had her tickets delivered by C Evgeni Malkin. Her grandmother, Alice Slagle, said, “It was like having Frank Sinatra walk into your house” (PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW, 9/13).
