Northwestern Hosts First Of Learfield Sports' College Experiences For Ill Children

Learfield Sports is teaming with Chicago-based Special Spectators to create college gameday experiences for seriously ill children and their families. The first event was this past weekend at Northwestern. Future dates are set for Alabama, Colorado, Kansas State, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin State, schools where Learfield owns the multimedia rights. About 50 boys and girls attended the Northwestern game on Saturday against Eastern Illinois, touring the stadium, sitting in the radio booth, tailgating with Northwestern cheerleaders, and meeting athletes and coaches. “We’re honored to have the collegiate connections to help Special Spectators expand their reach and give more kids magical days,” said Learfield President & CEO Greg Brown. Learfield has the multimedia rights to about 50 colleges, conferences and associations.
