Reel Big Fish: Top-Ranked U.S. Tennis Player Signs With Bumblebee Tuna

Bumblebee Tuna announced Thursday it has signed Mardy Fish to a two-year endorsement contract. The announcement will be made at the annual BNP Paribas Taste of Tennis in Manhattan. Fish is the highest-ranked U.S. player at eighth on the ATP's list, and he is in the midst of a career-best year. A source said that Fish will earn low- to mid-six figures each year as part of the deal. This is believed to be Bumblebee’s first tennis endorsement deal. There clearly is a catchy element given Fish’s last name, but the source said the tuna company was also attracted to Fish’s story of losing weight through diet and exercise. Bumblebee will air 20 two- to three-minute vignettes on its website and on YouTube featuring Fish.
