Changing Slopes: Gold Medalist Shaun White Signs Multiyear Deal With Vail Resorts

Vail Resorts has signed a multiyear partnership with Olympic Gold Medalist Shaun White in which he will be "representing all six Vail hills," according to Jason Blevins of the DENVER POST. Northstar at Lake Tahoe, the company's "newest addition," will serve as White's "home mountain." White will “design a 22-foot halfpipe” at Northstar as part of the agreement. The deal also includes Vail Resorts "donating $5 to White’s chosen charity, Tennessee’s St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, for every Epic Pass it sells.” The company last season sold almost 300,000 season passes. Vail Resorts now joins Target, Burton, Oakley and Hewlett-Packard as White’s "top sponsors.” The new agreement also replaces White’s “longtime deal with Park City Mountain Resort” (DENVER POST, 8/17). White will also be designing a limited edition Epic Pass, which will be made available to all season pass holders, through a Facebook promotion (Vail Resorts).
