Judge Denies Motion For Restraining Order Regarding Robert Quinn Situation

A Houston federal judge yesterday denied NFL agent Carl Carey's motion for a restraining order preventing certain agents from negotiating a contract for his former client, Rams first-round draft pick Robert Quinn, after Carey indicated the motion was now moot. The Rams signed Quinn to a contract over the weekend and a Rams spokesperson said that NFL player agent Tony Fleming of Impact Sports had negotiated the deal for Quinn. In a court order yesterday, U.S. District Judge Gray Miller wrote, "Plaintiffs (Carey and his company, Champion Pro Consulting Group) filed a motion for temporary restraining order, but now indicate that the motion is moot and they wish to 'dismiss' it. The motion to dismiss is GRANTED in that the motion for temporary restraining order is DENIED AS MOOT." Carey did not return a phone call. An attorney for Fleming, his partner Mitch Frankel, and Quinn declined comment.
