Overnight Ratings: Fox MLB Coverage, RBC Canadian Open Top Weekend Sports Telecasts

Fox' MLB regional coverage on Saturday afternoon led all weekend sports telecasts with a 2.2 overnight Nielsen rating, which featured Braves-Reds in 45% of markets and Padres-Phillies in 34%. Braves-Reds was also the featured "Sunday Night Baseball" game on ESPN last night, earning a 1.7 overnight, which is down 19% from the comparable Cubs-Cardinals matchup last year. ESPN also saw a decline for its NASCAR Nationwide Series coverage, with Saturday's Federated Auto Parts 300 from Nashville Superspeedway earning a 1.1 overnight (-15%). CBS saw gains this weekend for the PGA Tour RBC Canadian Open. Yesterday's final round earned a 1.9 overnight for Sean O'Hair's playoff win over Kris Blanks, up 36% from Carl Pettersson's win last year. ABC earned a 0.6 overnight for its coverage of the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday afternoon. The rating is up compared to a 0.5 overnight in '09, which was the last time the game aired on the net.
