TNT Sees Ratings, Viewership Gains For Six NASCAR Sprint Cup Telecasts

TNT averaged a 3.1 U.S. rating and 5.13 million viewers for its six NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races this season, up 3.3% and 2.5%, respectively, from a 3.0 rating and 4.99 million viewers last year. Compared to figures from the net’s six races in ’09, ratings for this year were down 6.1%, but viewership was up a half percent. The Coke Zero 400 telecast from Daytona Int’l Speedway on July 2 was the net’s highest-rated and most-viewed race for the second straight season with a 3.4 rating and 6.03 million viewers. The Daytona telecast also marked the only TNT race this season to top all cable TV telecasts during its respective week. NASCAR.com’s TNT RaceBuddy averaged 886,000 weekly video streams during the six races. Overall, video streams on RaceBuddy were up 143% from last year.
