Minor League Baseball President Pat O'Conner Seeking Another Four-Year Term

Minor League Baseball President Pat O'Conner yesterday notified the organization's board of trustees he will seek a second four-year term leading the affiliated minors. O'Conner, a veteran of minor league baseball at the team and national level for more than 30 years, was elected to his first four-year term as president in '07 and has since overseen a sweeping series of changes in the industry. Among his moves as president have been the creation of the online holding company Baseball Internet Rights Co., a new six-year extension to '20 of the master Professional Baseball Agreement with MLB, and establishment of new attendance records. O'Conner had a deadline of May 31 to inform the MiLB trustees of his decision regarding a second term. A formal election will occur in December.
