Warriors Co-Owner Joe Lacob Asks For Patience In Letter To Fan

Lacob Asks For Patience In Trying
To Rebuild Warriors Franchise

New Warriors co-Owner Joe Lacob sent a "telling e-mail" to a fan named Jordan after the fan left a message for Lacob following the team's nine-point loss Monday to the Rockets, according to Rusty Simmons of the S.F. CHRONICLE. Lacob did not attend the contest, but instead "watched a tape of the game." He wrote in the e-mail, "I just finished watching our W's game. Believe me, I am extremely frustrated. I assure you that I am looking at all aspects of our play and our team and looking for ways to get better." Lacob added, "I know Warrior fans are frustrated. I am frustrated. But, we have owned this team for a month!!! I promise we will not settle for losing. We will make changes to improve any aspect of the team. ... Don't blame the new ownership group for the sins of the past. Give us a chance to fix the situation. I hope we can do it quickly but in all honesty, it may take a little time and a few moves to get there" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 12/22). TRUEHOOP's Henry Abbott wrote, "I don't know if we have reached the point where it's de facto required for owners to communicate with fans like this. But it is certainly appreciated, and in the long run those who don't will be missing a major opportunity to build credibility with fans" (ESPN.com, 12/21).
