NFLPA Revokes Agent Certification Of Josh Luchs After SI Tell-All

JOSH LUCHS said Thursday that he was not at all surprised that the NFLPA revoked his certification to represent NFL players in contract talks after his public admissions to SI and other media outlets that he paid college players. The NFLPA confirmed that its Committee on Agent Regulation & Discipline (CARD) has voted to revoke the certification of Luchs for admitting that he made payments to college football players, among other things, in his tell-all article in SI. The CARD committee voted unanimously to revoke his certification in a meeting it held on Tuesday night. Luchs’ statements to SI that he made payments of money or other things to college players at a time when the players' eligibility had not ended is a violation of NFLPA regulations. Luchs has a right to appeal the CARD committee's revocation to an arbitrator. "I anticipated this would be the outcome of my admissions, so the only surprise is it took them 10 days to do it," Luchs said of the NFLPA's action. "I can't help but think though that what they did was waste a bullet on a corpse. I would be curious to see, moving forward, what other actions they take on agents they have information on currently, who are not quite as open about their indiscretions."
