BACK TO SCHOOL: ESPN earned a 5.9 cable rating and 8.406 million viewers for Monday's Miami-Florida State game, marking the second-most viewed regular-season college football game in network history, trailing only a 6.9 cable rating and 9.12 million viewers for the same matchup in '06 (ESPN)....Last Sunday's Colorado State-Colorado game, which aired nationally on FSN, earned a 1.0 U.S. rating, up 14% from the same game last year. FSN Rocky Mountain led all regional nets with an 11.5 local rating, marking the second-highest rated college football telecast ever on the network behind a 12.3 rating for the same matchup last year (THE DAILY).

NOTES: CSN Bay Area earned a 5.81 local rating and more than 202,000 HHs for Padres-Giants Tuesday, marking the network's most-viewed Giants game this season. The game also ranked as the highest-rated Giants game on the net since a 7.8 local rating for the August '07 Nationals-Giants game in which former MLBer Barry Bonds hit his record-breaking 756th home run (CSN)....TSN drew 982,000 viewers for last Sunday's CFL Winnipeg Blue Bombers-Saskatchewan Roughriders game, marking the most-watched sporting event on Canadian TV for the weekend (TSN).
