Callanan's first day was Tuesday (NHL)....Canada Basketball named McMaster Univ. AD THERESE QUIGLEY President, the first woman to hold the position. Quigley in '06 joined the Canada Basketball BOD. Canada Basketball also hired JACQUES MIQUEA as VP, while JOHN MILLS and JOE RALKO have been elected to the BOD (CP, 5/27)....The NCAA has named BRIAN GORDON Secretary-Rules Editor (NCAA).
EXECS: The Phoenix Regional Sports Commission (PRSC) has hired former Metro Denver Sports Commission and Tulsa Sports Commission Exec Dir JON SCHMIEDER as President (PRSC)....The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has hired Boston Globe Senior Assistant Sports Editor REID LAYMANCE as Assistant Managing Editor for Sports, where he will oversee the sports department. Laymance is replacing LARRY STARKS, who in November left to work on NBA coverage for ABC/ESPN (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 5/24)....The Dodgers named CurtCo Media Senior VP/Multimedia FRANN VETTOR-GRAY VP/Consumer Development (Dodgers)....CSN Philadelphia has promoted 76ers Producer SHAWN OLEKSIAK to the newly created position of Exec Producer of Live Events (CSN).
