Goldstein Campaign Using Marino’s
Image Without Permission |
Pro Football HOFer Dan Marino is “featured yet again in a campaign flier” for Florida state Rep. Susan Goldstein, “even though he has asked at least twice that she
stop using his picture,” according to Jerry Berrios of the MIAMI HERALD. Marino and Goldstein are each parents of an autistic child and they worked to pass a bill that “mandates special certification for swim teachers for children with developmental disabilities.” The new flier, sponsored by the Republican Party of Florida, “shows a photo of Marino with Goldstein during passage of the bill.” Republican Party of Florida Communications Dir Jeff Sadosky said that by the time the party “received word of Marino’s objections, it could not stop the mailing.” Sadosky “stressed that no other materials will use Marino’s name or image and added that Goldstein had nothing to do with the second mailer.” Goldstein said that she “pulled all the ads.” Ralph Stringer, Marino’s business manager, declined to comment (
