SWIFT MOVE: In Phoenix, Craig Harris reports Coyotes co-Owner JERRY MOYES is stepping down as President of Swift Transportation Co. immediately and will relinquish his CEO title “probably by the end of next year.” Moyes will also “give up some of his powers as” Chair. Swift spokesperson DAVE BERRY said that the moves “have nothing to do” with the SEC and Justice Department investigating Swift and Moyes “over insider and company stock purchases made earlier this year.” Harris notes the changes “did appear to address criticisms over Swift’s engaging in business transactions with companies owned or controlled by Moyes.” Swift operates Freightliner trucks, among others (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 11/4).
