USATF Indoor Championships Staying In Boston For Three Years

The USA Indoor Track & Field Championships will return to the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center at Roxbury Community College near Boston for the next three years. USATF CEO Craig Masback was joined at the announcement by Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Reggie Lewis Center Dir Keith McDermott and ’04 USA Indoor 800m and 1,500m champion Jen Toomey, who is from Massachusetts (USATF). Masback said returning to Boston was not “a difficult decision given what we’ve had here the last two years with this championship. The community spirit that’s exhibited by the event we’ve had here will sellout crowds, our outstanding local association that brings so much to the table in terms of expertise and links with the community, the Reggie Lewis Center ... and the hospitality that’s shown by Roxbury Community College.” Romney noted the event “helps brand our community and brand the community college on the world stage” (BOSTON HERALD, 10/20).
