Petrick Resigns As WB President &
COO Effective In April

RESIGNATION: The WB President & COO JED PETRICK yesterday announced he will resign his post in April. Petrick, who previously served as VP/Sales at the Baseball Network and owned his own sports marketing company, has not decided what he will do next (DAILY VARIETY, 1/7).

EXTENSION: The MLB Cardinals announced President MARK LAMPING has agreed to a three-year contract extension through '06 (Cardinals).

EXECS: Oakley promoted VP/Sports Marketing SCOTT BOWERS to the newly created position of VP/Marketing Worldwide, responsible for overseeing all aspects of Oakley's worldwide marketing programs, including sports marketing, advertising and consumer marketing campaigns. Bowers joined Oakley in May '88 (Oakley)....Global Brand Marketing named MICHAEL BROSNAHAN to the newly created position of VP/U.S. Sales for Pony Apparel. Brosnahan will oversee all aspects of U.S. sales operations for the apparel division of Pony Int'l and will be based in Santa Barbara, CA. Throughout his career, Brosnahan has served as Puma North America VP/Apparel, Speedo VP/Sales & Marketing and Nike National Sales Manager (Global Brand Marketing)....Sinsheimer, Schiebelhut & Baggett named FIFA Women's World Cup Organizing Committee COO & General Counsel JUNE MCIVOR a Partner, serving as co-Chair of the firm's business practice group with ROBIN BAGGETT. McIvor has also served as General Counsel for MLS (Sinsheimer, Schiebelhut & Baggett)....Bauer Nike Hockey named Nike Germany Footwear Business Dir DIRK PAULUS as Int'l Regional Business Dir for its European operations (Bauer Nike Hockey)....Palace Sports & Entertainment (PS&E) promoted Manager of Technical Services MICHAEL GARRETT to Dir of Business Systems (PS&E).....ATP Dir of Player Services PAUL SETTLES has left the organization after 14 years to become head coach at Claremont College in Claremont, CA (ATP).

MEDIA: In Cleveland, Roger Brown wrote WKNR-AM has fired on-air personalities GREG BRINDA, KENDALL LEWIS and KEN SILVERSTEIN, as well as Program Dir STEVE LEGERSKI and Station Producer SCOTT SMOOT. Sources said that the firings "largely were budget-related," but that the moves "also were a dramatic attempt by Salem Communications, the owner of WKNR, to re-energize the station's programming" (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 1/6).
