NFL: In N.Y., Paul Tharp reports Dodge will run a 30-second ad on CBS during Super Bowl XXXVIII February 1. Dodge is also presenting sponsor of the '04 Lingerie Bowl, a PPV event to air during halftime of the Super Bowl (N.Y. POST, 12/2)....SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Daniel Kaplan reports that for licensed holiday collectibles and trinkets, the NFL "expects $25[M] of sales this year, up more than 100[%] in two years. While a blip in the estimated $3.1[B] in annual NFL licensed-goods sales, it is nonetheless one of the quickest-growing categories for the league." In addition to the usual tree ornaments, items now include team bobbleheads, nutcrackers, stockings and bean bears (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 12/1 issue).

HOOPSTERS: Dennis Rodman's agent Darren Prince indicated that "even if Rodman does not sign with an NBA team, he has shot commercials for a law firm and financial services company." Prince said that Rodman was not paid to be in ESPN's two-part series, "The Season: Rodman on the Rebound," which begins tonight (N.Y. TIMES, 12/2)....In Denver, Aaron Lopez writes Nuggets F Carmelo Anthony, who has a six-year, $18M deal with Nike, "might be a steal for Nike compared with the $90[M] it will pay" Cavs G LeBron James. The Bonham Group Chair & CEO Dean Bonham: "It's much more likely that the cost-value ratio is going to be greatly in Carmelo Anthony's favor in the case of Nike. That's simply because the cost going in was considerably less than LeBron, and the value appears to be pretty close to the same level" (ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS, 12/2).

AD AGENCIES: Global Brand Marketing, parent company of Pony Int'l, has hired S.F.-based Goodby, Silverstein & Partners as agency of record for Pony (GBM)....Saatchi & Saatchi has been hired by London 2012 to "help sell the city" to the IOC. Along with the Ingram Partnership, Saatchi & Saatchi "will be responsible for preparing the London 2012 pitch as well as persuading cynical Londoners hosting the games is a good idea" (London GUARDIAN, 11/27)....SMI's Infineon Raceway in California awarded its national advertising account to S.F.-based Attik (Attik).
