          In N.Y., Rush & Molloy report that President-elect
     GEORGE W. BUSH thinks that former MLB Commissioner FAY
     VINCENT would make "a grand ambassador" to Ireland.  But
     Vincent said, "Frankly, I [have] very little ambition
     nowadays" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 12/21)....The London DAILY
     MIRROR reports that the romance between former Spice Girl
     GERI HALLIWELL and Mavs G STEVE NASH has "fizzled. ... The
     problem seems to be that neither [Halliwell or Nash] can
     find time in their busy schedules to see one another.  And
     so, after managing a couple of candle-lit dinner dates, the
     pair have called it a day" (CP, 12/21)....The UT TRAVEL
     COUNCIL retained HILL & KNOWLTON, the same PR firm of the
     IOC, to promote the state during the 2002 Games. The
     $600,000 contract begins this month and continues through
     February '02 when the Games end (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 12/21).
