ROY BOE TO KEEP HIS SHARE OF AHL TEAM; ECHL TEAM ON MARKET?

AHL IceCats Managing General Partner Roy Boe said that
the proposed deal to sell his share of the team to Boston
business exec Rick Kohn has "been called off," according to
Bill Ballou of the Worcester TELEGRAM & GAZETTE. Kohn had
been introduced as the team's prospective owner in October.
Boe: "We just couldn't come to a business decision." Part
of the proposed deal with Kohn was for him to "assume" about
$595,000 the IceCats "still owe" the Blues for their
affiliation agreement. Boe must sell the IceCats before
July 1 in order to assume ownership of the new AHL team
starting play in Bridgeport, CT (TELEGRAM & GAZETTE, 12/20).
ECHL TEAM ON THE NC MARKET? THE HOCKEY NEWS' Rob
Mueller reports the ECHL Greensboro Generals recently
"fired" VP Clyde Harden, GM Morris Jeffreys and Dir of
Entertainment Morris Jeffreys Jr. after a ten-game winless
streak, "poor fan support" and "mounting financial losses."
Co-Owners Art Donaldson and Jim Roscetti, who paid a $1.5M
expansion fee for the team in July '99, have "reportedly
been shopping the franchise to prospective owners for as
little as" $100,000 (THE HOCKEY NEWS, 12/22 issue).
