ANDRES CANTOR SIGNS DEAL WITH UNIVISION COMPETITOR TELEMUNDO

Soccer announcer Andres Cantor, whose "Gooooaal" call
was a "trademark" of Univision's soccer coverage, has signed
a multiyear agreement with rival Spanish-language
broadcaster Telemundo, according to Nellie Andreeva of the
HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. As he was at Univision, Cantor will be
Telemundo's "prime soccer play-by-play announcer and weekend
sports anchor." Andreeva writes that Cantor "has his
announcing job cut out for him since Telemundo has acquired
the rights" to MLS games this year. What "is different at
Telemundo is that Cantor will be able to do non-sports-
related projects." Cantor "hasn't decided yet what
opportunities he is going to pursue outside of sports, but
sources said he is evaluating hosting a reality series for
     Telemundo" (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 4/20).
