EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          BROADCAST NEWS: In Dallas, Cathy Harasta reports that
     Dallas 2012 committee member KEVIN SULLIVAN "is leaving to
     become" NBC Sports VP/Communications.  Dallas 2012 committee
     member MICHAEL SORRELL "will handle some" of Sullivan's
     "duties" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 1/26)....ABC Sports Dir of PR
     MARK MANDEL has been promoted to ABC Sports VP/Sports Media
     Relations (ELECTRONIC MEDIA, 1/25)....NBC Sports has
     promoted GARY QUINN from Administrator to Manager of
     Business Development (THE DAILY).
          MORE EXECS: Rivals.com has appointed KAREN NORTHUP as
     CFO.  Northup previously served as acting CFO and controller
     for CA-based Internet company Telocity.  Rivals.com CFO
     JEFFREY RICE has been promoted to Chief of Staff
     (Rivals.com)......MICHAEL NEUMAN has joined HA-LO Sports as
     VP for the N.Y. office.  Neuman previously worked as
     Business Development Manager for Chancellor Marketing Group
     (HA-LO Sports)....JACKIE STEWART resigned as Chair & CEO of
     the Jaguar Formula One racing team.  Ford Motor Co. VP NEIL
     RESSLER "will take over" as Chair (AP, 1/26)....Vikings Exec
     VP & GM TIM CONNOLLY resigned effective February 1. 
     Connolly has been with the Vikings since '98
     (Vikings)....The MLS Crew named JIM SMITH GM.  Smith
     replaces JAMEY ROOTES, who was named VP/Sales & Marketing
     for Houston's NFL franchise.  Smith was previously OH State
     Univ. Associate Dir for Marketing & Communications (Crew).
