U.S. TRACK & FIELD WOMEN GET "RACY" WITH NEW CALENDAR

A calendar of the U.S.'s "top women track and field
stars" in "partially nude" poses has "eyes ... popping,"
according to the AP, which writes that the calendar "makes
Victoria's Secret models look matronly." High jumper Amy
Acuff, who appears in the calendar: "This is not a calendar
of bimbos. These are world-class athletes with brains.
Don't try to argue otherwise." The "racy" calendar, which
"quickly sold out" when it first went on sale during the
U.S. Outdoor Track and Field Championships in June, are
available on the Internet for $15. Half of the proceeds
goes "to help fund" the athletes' "Olympic-year training,"
while the other half goes to a children's foundation in
memory of the late Florence Griffith Joyner (AP, 1/7).
