A GOOD FIT? REPORT HAS DALY EYEING DEAL WITH LIQUIDMETAL

The "biggest free agent" on the golf equipment market
is John Daly, according to GOLFWEEK'S "Forecaddie," which
"would not be surprised to see" Daly opening the 2000 season
"playing the driver and carrying the bag" of Liquidmetal
Golf. Daly met with company officials in Orlando on
December 12. Daly also has been "tinkering with just about
every iron" on the market (GOLFWEEK, 12/18 issue).
TITLE DEAL: LiquidGolf.com will title sponsor the
Senior PGA Tour's Sarasota Golf Classic, to be held February
21-27. The event will now be called the "LiquidGolf.com
Invitational Presented By Business Week" (LiquidGolf.com).
A TIGER PAUSE: Buick's national ad agency McCann-
Erickson "shot four TV spots" featuring Tiger Woods last
week in Southern CA. The ad campaign, set to break in
February during the Buick Invitational, "will also include a
print component featuring Woods" (ADWEEK, 12/20 issue).
....ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY lists Woods' ball-bouncing Nike ad
among its "Great Performances" of '99. The spot, "one of
the year's true virtuoso moments in advertising -- or
     anywhere, ... blended show-offy assurance with ho-hummy
     nonchalance" (ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY, 12/24 issue).
