CARR HITS THE ROAD: CELTICS END AFFILIATION WITH EXEC VP

M.L. Carr is "no longer affiliated" with the Celtics,
according to Peter May of the BOSTON GLOBE, who writes that
Carr "really hasn't been for the last two years" even though
he was listed as Celtics Exec VP/Corporate Development in
the team's media guide. Celtics CEO Richard Pond said that
"it was decided to take Carr out of the basketball picture
entirely, in part because of his critical comments last year
about [coach Rick] Pitino and the team." As a result, Carr
"no longer has a bio in the media guide, nor does he have
space anymore" at the team's offices. But May notes that
Carr is being paid by Celtics Owner Paul Gaston "to find
investment vehicles for the club and has three years left on
     his contract" (BOSTON GLOBE, 12/21).
