HICKS NAMES CRAMER TO HEAD ARLINGTON BALLPARK DEVELOPMENT

Rangers/Stars Owner Tom Hicks has selected Southwest
Sports Group COO Mike Cramer to be the "point man for
developing" the 270 acres of land around The Ballpark in
Arlington, according to Richard Alm of the DALLAS MORNING
NEWS. Naming Cramer to the project "signals" that Hicks
"doesn't intend to drag his feet on developing the ballpark
property" located next to Interstate 30 between Dallas and
Ft. Worth. Cramer has already begun "discussing the project
with potential developers, although former Rangers president
Tom Schieffer has yet to make his recommendations for the
project." Schieffer is a consultant on the project and "has
traveled extensively in the [U.S.] and Europe, touring
large-scale developments" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 12/11).
