ASK RAYCOM SPORTS: COMPANY LAUNCHES CONSULTING GROUP

          Charlotte-based Raycom Sports has launched the Raycom
     Sports Management Consulting Group with offices based in
     N.Y., Charlotte and Sacramento.  The division will be led by
     Raycom President & CEO Ray Warren and Raycom Exec VP & COO
     Ken Haines.  The group will focus its efforts on providing
     consultation in TV and radio; owning, sponsoring, creating
     and managing special events; Web opportunities; virtual
     signage; arena naming rights; corporate partnerships and TV
     production.  The unit's first client is the Sacramento
     Sports Commission, which is hosting the Men's and Women's
     Olympic Track & Field Trials for the 2000 Olympic Games
     (Raycom Sports).  The SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Erik Spanberg
     reports that "because there are minimal start-up costs,
     Raycom expects to turn a profit in its consulting business
     quickly" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 11/29 issue).
