ROCKIES, DODGERS BOOST TICKET PRICES FOR '99-2000 SEASON

The Rockies "raised" ticket prices on 55% of their
"higher-priced" seats for next season, according to Mike
Klis of the DENVER POST, who reports that the average
increase at 50,200-seat Coors Field was 4.8%. Klis notes
that with the "average ticket costing" $16.65 in '99, the
"boost" comes out to $.80 a seat for next season. Since the
average home crowd was 42,976 last season, Klis writes that
the ticket increase could mean $34,380 more per game. With
81 home dates, the team "can draw an additional" $2.785M in
revenues. Klis adds that senior citizens and children under
12 "can still watch" a game for $1 (DENVER POST, 11/23).
L.A. STORY: Ticket prices for all but 12,000 seats at
Dodger Stadium "will go up" next season, with increases
"topping out" from $28-$40 for premium field seats. Seats
in a new 565-seat area "under construction will sell" for
     between $195-225 a game (L.A. TIMES, 11/20).
