FACILITY NOTES

A DECISION THAT WILL FLOOR YOU: The Celtics will
replace the FleetCenter's current parquet floor with a
"similarly designed floor" starting on January 3. Pieces of
the old court "will be refurbished and integrated with the
new surface." The team will play their last game on the
present court December 22, and will hold a "Parquet
Memories" night (BOSTON HERALD, 11/23). The new floor will
consist of 264 panels and be constructed of the "same red
oak lumber." FleetCenter GM John Wentzell said the floor
will cost at least $200,000 (HARTFORD COURANT, 11/23).
MORE NOTES: A Toronto judge has ruled that former
Ontario Cabinet Minister Greg Sorbara "can continue" his
lawsuit against Sportsco co-CEOs Alan Cohen and Harvey
Walken concerning the group's acquisition of SkyDome (see
THE DAILY, 10/26) (TORONTO STAR, 11/23)....Daniel Streyle,
Project Manager on Paul Brown Stadium, said that the
facility "will be finished in time for next season."
Streyle said that the schedule "is tight, but the stadium
will be ready" for the Bengals' late-summer preseason games
(CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 11/23)....Market Square Arena will be
demolished "sometime next spring." Mayor Stephen Goldsmith
said that "there was no feasible way for MSA to remain
     financially viable" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 11/23).
