ONLINE NEWS & NOTES: IBL LAUNCHES SITE TODAY WITH SAPIENT

          The IBL relaunches its Web site today at
     www.iblhoops.com.  The IBL has joined with MA-based Sapient
     Corp. and MA-based Hyperwave on the new site (IBL).
          THIS LITTLE PIXE GOES...: Internet video broadcaster
     Pixelon.com has "inked deals" with Disney Sports with plans
     to "webcast more entertainment" (ENTERTAIN. WEEKLY, 11/19), 
          YET ANOTHER VENTURE: In Charleston, Jim Parker examined
     www.LocalSports.com, a Web site founded by J. Gordon Nielsen
     and Michael Smith, which "provides updated local sports
     scores, reports and profiles."  LocalSports.com is an
     "outgrowth" of MIDO Sports Marketing and Management, a
     "broad-based sports marketing company."  The company's
     "long-term goal" is to expand to 50 to 100 markets
     nationwide and then to Europe and possibly South America. 
     Nielsen and Smith are "trying to accumulate" $10M in
     financing and plan to hire a CEO (POST & COURIER, 11/15).
