SNYDER DENIES LARRY KING'S REPORT OF RECORD NAMING DEAL

Redskins Owner Daniel Snyder "denied" Larry King's
report in Monday's USA Today that the team has sold the
naming rights to Redskins Stadium for $189M over 27 years,
according to Eric Fisher of the WASHINGTON TIMES. King did
not name which company was involved in a deal, and yesterday
Snyder said, "There is no deal. I don't know where all of
that came from." Companies "rumored to be interested" in
the naming rights include FedEx, Science Applications Int'l
and Bell Atlantic. Fisher notes that CA-based Science
Applications "would most fit the profile of recent stadium
naming rights purchasers" because it is a technology company
"well regarded within industry and government circles, but
largely unknown to the public." A Science Applications
spokesperson "was not aware" of a deal and Bell Atlantic
officials said that the company "was not involved in any
pending deal" with the team (WASHINGTON TIMES, 10/19).
