IT'S GOOD TO BE KING? JUDGE DENIES CALLAWAY'S MOTION ON EX

          CA Superior Court Judge LISA GUY-SCHALL denied an
     attempt by Callaway Golf to prevent former employee MARK
     KING from resigning to join Taylor Made Golf (See THE DAILY,
     8/20) (Taylor Made).  King left Callaway Golf on August 18. 
     Callaway Golf Ball Co. then sued King, "seeking to stop him
     from taking the job and from divulging trade secrets."  Guy-
     Schall "did order King, however, not to disclose any of
     Callaway's design schemes or marketing strategies for its
     new golf ball."  Callaway will ask an arbitrator to prevent
     King from working at Taylor Made until the end of 2000, when
     his employment contract runs out (S.D. UNION-TRIBUNE, 9/24).
