ARTHUR ANDERSEN/ATHERTON COMMUNICATIONS BACK WOODEN TRIBUTE

Atherton Communications, organizers of the annual NCAA
basketball John Wooden Classic in CA, has announced plans
for the John Wooden Tradition, an annual college basketball
two-game tribute to Wooden in IN. The event, which will be
played at Conseco Fieldhouse, will be presented by Arthur
Andersen and co-produced with Pacers Sports & Entertainment,
which has entered a long-term agreement to host the event.
The inaugural Tradition will be November 25, 2000. Atherton
will produce the event as a complement to the John Wooden
Classic (Atherton). In Indianapolis, Bill Benner wrote that
the event will take place every November "for at least the
next five years and maybe far into the new millennium."
Benner also noted that Wooden does motivational speaking for
Arthur Andersen. Special Olympics IN "will be the
beneficiary of proceeds" from the event (STAR-NEWS, 9/22).
