WOODS-GARCIA RIVALRY CONTINUES TO DRAW RAVE REVIEWS

ESPN's Mike Lupica, when asked by Dick Schaap how much
the Tiger Woods-Sergio Garcia one-two finish in last
weekend's PGA Championship "quiets" the Ryder Cup play-for-
pay controversy: "It quiets it, but it doesn't go away.
This will clearly be a fractured Ryder Cup team when we get
to Brookline. This is an issue that will heat up again"
("Sports Reporters," 8/22)....More Lupica: "I've talked to
more people who are casual golf fans, who could not turn
this match off" ("Sports Reporters," 8/22).
