     Board of Dirs LESA KENNEDY was named to the Martinsville
     (VA) Speedway BOD (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 8/14)....Nat'l Rugby
     League (NRL) CEO NEIL WHITTAKER announced his resignation
     Friday afternoon.  NRL Chair COLIN LOVE said a search for
     Whittaker's replacement "would be advertised worldwide"
     (AAP, 8/13)....JEFF GRIFFITHS was named Palace Sports &
     Entertainment Assistant Dir of Marketing, responsible for
     overseeing media and advertising for The Palace (Palace
     Sports)....WCBS-CBS has signed WARNER WOLF to a contract
     extension through February 2001 (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 8/15).
