WHEN PUSH COMES TO SHOVE: NEW BOXING LEAGUE SET FOR TV

          SC-based Litton Syndication is "packaging" the start-up
     National Boxing League (NBL), "with plans" to bring it to TV
     in 2000, according to Greg Spring of ELECTRONIC MEDIA. 
     Litton execs are "continuing to hold talks with various"
     cable and broadcast networks, as well as local and regional
     TV outlets, and "expect to lock down a national TV home for
     the concept by the end of the year."  The NBL "would be
     comprised of franchises in eight major markets, which would
     then square off against each other in televised events." 
     Litton will be involved in "securing sponsorship and
     merchandising opportunities" and handling "all media
     responsibilities."  Both Litton and NBL franchise owners
     will have an ownership stake in the league.  Game Plan
     President Randy Vataha is the NBL "creation consultant," and
     Toughman Competition Founder Art Dore will serve as NBL CEO
     & Managing Partner (ELECTRONIC MEDIA, 8/9 issue).
