FACILITY NOTES

          Cardinals QB Jake Plummer is appearing in ads endorsing
     the Rio Salado Crossing project by pitching "Make the play!"
     to prospective voters on May 18 (AZ REPUBLIC, 5/7)....In his
     first extensive interview since Saturday's fatalities in
     Charlotte, Lowe's Motor Speedway President Humpy Wheeler
     said, "That's one thing about our industry: we can
     understand drivers getting hurt.  We don't like that either.
     But spectators ... that's sacred territory."  The track is
     considering safety improvements, such as raising the fences
     around parts of the track before NASCAR races later this
     month (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 5/7)....Buffalo's Pilot Field is
     now called Dunn Tire Park, after the Buffalo-based tire
     company (Rochester DEMOCRAT & CHRONICLE, 5/7).
