STEALY DAN? SNYDER OFFERS $800M TO AVOID ANOTHER 'SKINS BID

MD business exec Daniel Snyder "is trying to pre-empt a
second auction" for the Redskins by "striking" another $800M
deal for the team and Jack Kent Cooke Stadium, according to
sources of Fisher & Snider of the WASHINGTON TIMES. Sources
"confirmed" that Snyder and the Jack Kent Cooke estate
trustees are "negotiating to reach an agreement similar to
the failed offer presented by" Snyder and Howard Milstein.
If the estate and Snyder are able to reach a deal within the
next several weeks, the agreement "could be presented" to
NFL owners for approval at their next meeting in late May in
Atlanta. Snyder's offer differs from the one presented by
Milstein in that it consists of more "hard cash," as much as
$150M, which is three times as much as his planned cash
investment in the first proposal (WASHINGTON TIMES, 4/22).
