          MICHELLE KWAN will enroll at UCLA as a full-time
     student this fall.  Kwan, who is obligated to star in two
     more Disney primetime specials, "hasn't decided which shows
     she will perform in during the school year" (USA TODAY,
     4/15)....LOCHLIN SLEW, a two-year-old filly offspring of
     Triple Crown legend SEATTLE SLEW, was sold for a world-
     record price of $1.25M on Tuesday.  The previous world-
     record price paid for a filly was $1M (LEXINGTON HERALD-
     LEADER, 4/14)....Vikings WR CRIS CARTER is the recipient of
     this year's BYRON "WHIZZER" WHITE AWARD for his on- and off
     -field work, and will be honored at tomorrow's 26th annual
     Unsung Heroes Award Banquet in Washington, DC (Players
     Inc)....CRAIN'S N.Y. BUSINESS names Yankees Owner GEORGE
     STEINBRENNER as one its "All-Stars."  Steinbrenner said he
     believes in winning "at all costs": "I've worn a jockstrap,
     which a lot of others have not" (CRAIN'S N.Y. BUSINESS, 4/12
     issue)....The SYDNEY MORNING HERALD profiles Broncos Owner
     PAT BOWLEN.  Bowlen: "In our game winning is everything,
     winning is the only thing.  If you're worried about the
     bottom line, about how much money you're making, then you
     shouldn't be in football" (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 4/15).
