MORROW SNOWBOADS SELLS LINE TO K-2 IN $3.2M DEAL

OR-based Morrow Snowboards has "agreed to sell much of
the business," according to Jeff Manning of the Portland
OREGONIAN. Manning wrote that "faced with a deteriorating
balance sheet and a bevy of nervous creditors," the company
has entered into an agreement to sell its snowboard line as
well as parts of its board factory to K-2, which has agreed
to pay $3.2M for the brand. Morrow President Blair Mullin:
"With this deal, the brand survives, and, in the end, it
could exceed (market leader) Burton." Morrow "now will
shift its focus to snowboarding apparel" (OREGONIAN, 3/27).
