ON THE NET: LIPTON INKS SPONSORS; WTA EVENT NEEDS A BIG ONE

          Sponsorship deals around the Lipton Championships
     tennis tournament, which begins Thursday in Key Biscayne,
     FL:  Koning Restaurants Int'l, a minority-owned chain of
     Pizza Hut franchises, has signed a two-year deal with the
     tennis tournament.  The sponsorship, which was handled by
     Miami-based Game Plan, is being supported by more than
     500,000 boxtops circulated in South FL featuring players
     Pete Sampras and Anna Kournikova (Koning)....Sunglass Hut
     and Bolle have joined to sponsor the 11-day event (Bolle).
          CALIFORNIA DREAMIN': Promotion Sports, which presents
     the WTA Tour's San Diego Tennis Classic at La Costa, CA, has
     signed N.Y.-based Park Avenue Productions to secure a title
     sponsor for the event.  Acura, United Airlines, Evian and
     San Diego Magazine are returning as secondary sponsors of
     the event held July 31-August 8 (Park Avenue Productions).
