NFL TO TACKLE NEW MAGAZINE PROJECT? SOURCES SAY IT'S A GO

The NFL is "exploring the idea of launching a major
monthly consumer magazine" and has "reached out" to retired
SI Editor & Publisher Mark Mulvoy, according to Keith Kelly
of the N.Y. POST. Sources say the league is "about 80
percent there" in its effort to launch the title this fall,
which would be a joint venture with eMap Petersen and be
called "NFL Insider." Mulvoy: "Have I had discussions with
the NFL? Yes. Am I going to do something? No." Sources
     say that Mulvoy's "three-year non-compete agreement" with
Time Inc. expires at the end of August (N.Y. POST, 3/14).
