NIKE TURNS TO DEFENSE CONTRACTOR FOR INFO. TECHNOLOGY AID

Nike will hire MD-based Lockheed Martin to "perform all
of its information technology work," including management of
computer networks and business ops, as well as telecom and
Internet services, according to Peter Behr of the WASHINGTON
POST. Terms were not disclosed, but industry analysts
"speculated that it could be worth" $30-50M annually "over
the contract's five-year period." To win the contract,
Lockheed Martin "pledged to create a new technology center
near" Nike HQs in Beaverton, OR, and hire 180 "key Nike

done on the west coast (WASHINGTON POST, 3/10).
