PERSONNEL DECISIONS IN SALT LAKE; POUND IN THE NEWS

Kelly Flint will "retain his position" as Senior
VP/Legal Affairs and Marketing at the SLOC, but Licensing
Dir Rod Hamson "must wait another 30 days before learning
whether his involvement in the Olympic bribery scandal will
"cost him his job" (Mike Gorrell, SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 2/19).
NOTES: IOC VP Dick Pound "found himself at the centre
of a controversy yesterday when it was revealed" that the
Mormon Church in Salt Lake City gave him a family history
that "could be worth thousands of dollars." The Church
presented the gift to him in '97, two years after the IOC
awarded the Games to Salt Lake City (GLOBE & MAIL, 2/19).
Pound said the gift couldn't have had an influence on his
vote: "It was done long after" (N.Y. TIMES, 2/19).
