FACILITY NOTES

In Dallas, Steve Davis wrote that the MLS Crew's new
22,500-seat stadium "looks more and more like a road map to
success for others to follow." Davis: "Columbus' bold move
is drawing attention outside of soccer circles, in business
journals and national sports publications. Inside soccer,
other MLS teams are envious of the revenue opportunities
available for a team no longer renting, but owning." Davis
notes the Crew have doubled season-ticket sales from '98 to
7,000 this year (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 2/17)....ProServ
VP/Naming-Rights Partnerships Russell Wallach, on the cost
of naming rights: "We don't see a ceiling. We see the value
of these deals continuing to grow, and the venues and teams
continuing to figure out new creative ways to provide more
value to the corporations" (AMUSEMENT BUSINESS, 2/15 issue).
