NETS GET COSBY SHOW PREVIEW: NEW MINORITY OWNER VISITS TEAM

Nets Minority Owner Bill Cosby visited the team Tuesday
for the first time since purchasing part of it on January 13
and revealed the hiring of Dana London as personal
consultant for the team, according to Chris Broussard of the
N.Y. TIMES. Though Cosby declined to comment on the
meeting, he "eagerly introduced" reporters to London, who is
a counselor with a nonprofit organization called Transition
Team. London will work with Nets players and "advise [them]
on everything from dealing with unfavorable publicity to
avoiding negative relationships to preparing for future
careers outside of the game." One of her goals will be "to
aid players in overcoming personal problems that might
affect their performances." The Nets are the first team to
hire her, and while she will not be considered an employee
of the team, the Nets will pay her for her services by
making a donation to Transition Team (N.Y. TIMES, 2/10).
