RAPTORS RETHINK TICKET POLICY AFTER FREE-FOR-ALL AT SKYDOME

The Raptors "are rethinking their approach" to the
open-house FanFest at the new Air Canada Centre on Sunday
after several fans were injured Tuesday in a rush to claim
free seats at the SkyDome for the team's exhibition against
the Celtics, according to Robert MacLeod of the Toronto
GLOBE & MAIL. The team "had been planning" to allow fans to
enter FanFest on a first-come, first-serve basis, but now
will distribute tickets with reserved seating for the event.
Raptors VP/Sales & Marketing Michael Downey, who said up to
15,000 tickets would be available at either the SkyDome or
Maple Leaf Gardens starting today: "We just feel that's the
safest approach. It means you don't have people waiting
outside and stampeding in." The same ticket policy will
also be in effect for the first three Raptors home games,
for which a limited number of free upper level seats are
being offered (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 1/28).
