IN, OUT, IN, OUT: NFL CAN'T MAKE UP ITS MIND ON STONE FILM

NFL sources said the league "has chosen not to
cooperate" with OLIVER STONE on his film, "ANY GIVEN
SUNDAY," according to Terry Lefton of BRANDWEEK. The film
also has the working title of "THE LEAGUE." Stone "hoped"
to use the names and logos of NFL teams, "but league
officials had fears about how Stone would depict the league.
So Stone is relegated to using fictional teams" (BRANDWEEK,
1/25 issue). Despite reports that he was joining the cast,
Rush & Molloy reported that FRANK GIFFORD "turned down"
Stone's offer to be in the film (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 1/24).
