SUPER SALES: FOX ALMOST SOLD OUT OF SUPER BOWL AD INVENTORY

          Fox is "approaching a sellout of advertising time" on
     its January 31 Super Bowl telecast from Miami, according to
     Skip Wollenberg of the AP.  Despite a "whopping" 23%
     increase in the price of a 30-second spot -- which now goes
     for $1.6M -- only four spots "remained unsold" out of a 58
     ad slot inventory.  But Fox execs said that "four or five
     advertisers were discussing buying the slots."  Fox
     President/Sales Jon Nesvig: "I anticipate we will be sold
     out well prior to game time."  The "pace of sales" is slower
     than they were for NBC last year when ads for the telecast
     were sold out two months before the game (AP, 12/17).
